STARBUCKS 2013 CHRISTMAS 2013

“Create Wonder and Share Joy with Favorite Seasonal traditions” 2013 Christmas Starbucks promotion from 6 November 2013 ~ 6 January 2014 and i was invited to the Starbucks 1st drive-thru, Tanjung Tokong, Penang to have a fun briefing.

Upon arrival i was assign to team Anniversary blend. There were 5 pax per group. We were brought around different station for brief introduction.

3 new flavors cakes will be introduced this year. There were Trio Forest, Mango Tango and Midori. Each slice would be priced at RM10.90. The most notably one would be their , a rich moist chocolate cake, stuffed with juicy caramelized dark cherries, topped with a layer of chocolate ganache and beautifully presented with a generous amount of shaved chocolate flakes. The  which had mango slices stuffed between layers of light sponge cake would be ideal to go with the Starbucks® Christmas Blend. The on the other hand was also unique by itself. The trio layered sponge cake had a topping of cream cheese with slathered pistachio dressing.

Beside cake they also have their Starbucks® Seasonal Favorite Coffees (RM40 for 250g coffee beans pack or RM33 for 12 sachets of ready brew packs). It goes really well with the cakes. Bitter fresh brews coffee with sweet cake who can say no to that combo.

New beverage testing counter.

For this season we have Toffee Nut Latte, Toffee Nut Frappuccino® blended beverage, Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino® blended beverage and Cranberry White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino® blended beverage.

And yeah we get to try all the flavor in the mini cup.

Mini Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino® blended beverage.

Mini Toffee Nut Latte, Toffee Nut Frappuccino® blended beverage.

Cranberry White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino® blended beverage. Personally i prefer this as it got some sourness to cut thru the sweetness.

Next is the card & planner counter.

Limited edition Starbucks® Planner 2014 which has a special compartment to store your iPad. Personally i don't think i will put my iPad onto it. As it just supported with a sticker. It can stick but not sure it can fell off or not it will up to the god :). Priced at RM159 each. But you can get it FOC as well with 15 grande beverage & 3 purchase of the Christmas beverages. If you wan FOC be fast as i tried to get it for FREE years back but it was out of stock. They only gave me a key chain as a gift replacement.
Yeah i know you want their special Christmas card.

Which one you prefer?

I would choose the snowman, don't they look lovely.

60 design for you choose from during this festive holiday.

I want to RED one.

Sdyney Quays, Managing Director of Berjaya Starbucks® Coffee Company with staff posting with their Christmas product.

Herbs and Spices at Swez Brasserie, Eastin Hotel Penang

In conjunction with the festival of lights- Diwali/Deepavali, the creative and skillful culinary team of Swez Brasserie, Eastin Hotel Penang is pleased to offer diners with their November (2013) buffet themed "Herbs and Spices" which includes some delectable dishes with thoughtfully chosen combinations of herbs and spices to tantalize your taste buds.

Deep Fried Pakoras (香酥炸蔬菜) is one of my favorite among all dishes. Great batter and good sauce to complement with it. It is made of flour, rose flour, vegetable and herbs.

Sindhi Kadhi (咖哩蔬菜锅), it is abit light to my liking but the chef make it like so that it wouldn't overpower the dishes as expecting customer to have it alone without rice.

Chicken Tikka Masala (马沙拉香浓鸡), the chicken marinated with herbs and spices then fried to perfection.

Vege dish again but i love it although the capsican  is too raw to my liking, Murgh Aloo Masala (香浓马铃薯)

Goan Fish Curry (印度传统咖哩鱼), sea bass with lots of spices and herbs definitely a good go :)

Achari Paneer (鲜辣芝士沙拉), although i am a fan of cheese but not this type of indian cheese as it taste like dry taufu :P

Lamb Briyani (羊肉焖饭) is a great dish as all the spices did go well with the lamb. Tender and juicy lamb with fragrant rice.

Sweet ending were Mango Lassi (芒果拉昔), Gulap Jamun (玖瑰黄金球). Love the lassi as it it not too sweet to my liking but no other dessert as i am not really a sweet tooth.
So if you crave for a great herbs and species dishes please visit Eastin during Nov.
