Phua Chu Kang Eastin Hotel Penang charity event

It was the big night, "Don't Play-Play, Give Away Also!" at Eastin Hotel Penang. I had been invited as a media to witness another historical moment at Eastin Hotel Penang. It was night of hilarious comedy & charity in aid of the Tun Sardon Foundation with Phua Chu Kang, PCK.

Before the event started, i were asked to post at the backdrop specially done for the event.

In the ballroom, you can find PCK all over the places. Super big like postal or mini PCK at the table. Even Phua Chu Kang yellow boosts were on the table.

The event started with opening gambit (drum performance).

Follow by speeches by the Organizing Chairman, Dato' CP Tan and Chairman of Tun Sardon Foundation, Dato' Mohd Rizal Al-Amin bin Tun Sardon.

Performance by Penang Cheshire Home. I was so impress by the performance done by them. Although it was simple but it was good.

Performance by Digital Music string quartet.

Games session with Ah Beng & King Kong and lucky draw.

Finally our Guess of honor of the night, PHUA CHU KANG. He was full of energy and very entertaining. He was also good in drawing the crowd attention. So I believe all the guess that attended the dinner were very happy because no one dare to play play with him.

PCK showtime!!!

He played games, make jokes, knee down to Chef bruce lee and sang on the chair of the guess table.

Video showing PCK playing the PCK musical chair.

PCK had a great voice, so when he started to sing i got shocked. Never realist he can sing that well. May be because he always make funny voices :)

Let Listen to his singing!

End the event with photo taking. I got to take a photo with PCK, although not a personal shoot la.

Signature from PCK!!!

Those who miss the event really wasted as it was a great night. Beside having a lot laughter, you get to do charity as well. Below shown were the dinner served during the night.

5 course meal dinner

Appetizer:
Seafood Terrine, Grilled Mussel served with Pickle Carrot, Beet root Puree and Sun-Dried Tomato Essence

Soup:
Creamy Pumpkin Soup with Pine nut

Main Courses:
Baked Chicken Stuffed Horseradish Topped with Tomato Basil Jam, Shitake Lentil and Orange Emulsion with Asparagus

(For Vegetarians):
Vegetarian Saffron Ravioli with Asparagus and Portobello Mushroom

Dessert:
Classic Tiramisu with Clear Vanilla Sauce

Coffee or Tea

Sour and refreshing beetroot puree appetizer to begin with.  Seafood Terrine, Grilled Mussel served with Pickle Carrot, Beet root Puree and Sun-Dried Tomato Essence. It was good and elegant. Everything was perfect to begin with.

Love the soup too. Although the taste of the Creamy Pumpkin Soup was blend but luckily the pine nut improve the texture and flavor of the soup. I wished i had more pine nut in my soup.

Baked Chicken Stuffed Horseradish Topped with Tomato Basil Jam, Shitake Lentil and Orange Emulsion with Asparagus. Overall the dish was good but the shitake lentil and the breast meat was dried while serve. I believe this was due to the cold environment, mess cooking and delay serving. If i get to eat the dish hot and on the spot, it will be perfect! I knew that because the sauce was pretty good.

Classic Tiramisu was delicious but i was disappointed on my favorite vanilla sauce. Don't really like the Clear Vanilla Sauce.
Overall it was a great, enjoyable and relax night. Beside enjoying you get to help the people who need help.

Fried Jawa Mee at Selara Sim, Bayan Lepas, Penang

It had been my favorite lunch during my position at Bayan Lepas. This is the first fried jawa noodle i had tasted and it is the best so far. Love the fried jawa noodle sold here cause it have the fried aroma of the noodle and the sour and sweet jawa sauce.

It is one of the hawker stall at Selara Sim at Jalan Tengah.

The kopitiam is peak of people during lunch time. So you might have trouble finding a table.

This is the common mee jawa, RM3.50 with extra prawn fritters. I not a fan of this type of Mee Jawa because of the alkali taste of the yellow noodle. Beside that the dish is so so only.

My fried jawa noodle, RM3.00. After fried the alkali taste reduce and it also produce a "wok aroma" which increase yummyness of the dish. I love to add sauce for my fried noodle even mee goreng. So fried jawa mee come with sauce so it definitely my bowl of noodle.

It is definately worth a try. I highly recommended this dish. After lunch you can go for dessert as well. Soya bean along Jalan Tengah.

Soya bean stall along Jalan Tengah, Bayan Lepas, Penang

This stall been my favorite dessert or sweet ending for my lunch time while i worked at Bayan Lepas. The soya bean seller have a lovely and friend smile. His stall just along the road side next to Kafe Sin Kim Sing. He always wearing a black leather cap and ask you black or white sugar :)

Packed with people during lunch time.

Pricing for the dessert he is selling.

Very smooth & fragrant black sugar homemade tau fu fah with extra homemade grass jelly. His grass jelly is different from the market. It is spongy and extra herbie.

The stall is just next to this kopitiam :)
