Tantalizing Thai at Eastin Hotel Penang

In conjunction with the April Thailand water festival (Songkra) Eastin Hotel is please to introduce the delicious authentic Thai cuisine for their April theme.

Among the mouth watering dishes to look for are Yam Talay (Spicy Seafood Salad), Geang Phed Ped Yang (BBQ roasted duck in red curry), Tom Yam Goong (Spicy prawn soup with lemongrass and lime juice), Phad Thai Goong (Thai style fried noodles with prawn), Phra Neang Ma Nao (Steamed seabass with spicy garlic and lemon sauce) and The tempting desserts of Kao Neaw Mamuang (Mango sticky rice).

Chef Daniel and assistant prepared all these yummylicious dishes.

Yam Talay (Spicy Seafood Salad). The best dish among all cause i love the tenderness and juiciness of the well cook prawn, mussel and squirt. Tossed in sour & spicy lime sauce with raw yellow onion, spring onion and local coriander.

Tom Yam Goong (Spicy prawn soup with lemongrass and lime juice). Really yam kong when had this dish cause i am not really a spicy eater. Thick santan, spicy soup, fresh tender prawn serve with fresh coriander and Kaffir Lime Leaves.

Geang Phed Ped Yang (BBQ roasted duck in red curry). Chef Daniel used the traditional way to cook this. He used double coconut milk (Double coconut milk is top floating foam / layer of the fresh coconut reduction. It is much more thicker, lighter and flavorful), fresh peel graph for some sweetness, thai mini eggplant, roasted duck and herb. It was a great sweet dish but I prefer to have more herb to balance off the sweet and creaminess.

Phra Neang Ma Nao (Steamed seabass with spicy garlic and lemon sauce). Eat while it is piping HOT.

A traditional savory dish which are commonly called as Thai fried koey teow. It is actually called Phad Thai Goong (Thai style fried noodles with prawn).

Kao Neaw Mamuang (Mango sticky rice). I love the sweet & sour thai mango topped with coconut cream & some sweet aroma caramelize sticky rice. The saltiness of the coconut cream kind of complement the sweet & sour from the mango. It was a GREAT sweet ending.

You can have as many as you want at the buffet.
These are some of the dishes serve in the buffet. During buffet you get a wide range of Thai choices to choose from as well. The buffet will start from 1st ~ 30th April 2012.
