Herbs and Spices at Swez Brasserie, Eastin Hotel Penang

In conjunction with the festival of lights- Diwali/Deepavali, the creative and skillful culinary team of Swez Brasserie, Eastin Hotel Penang is pleased to offer diners with their November (2013) buffet themed "Herbs and Spices" which includes some delectable dishes with thoughtfully chosen combinations of herbs and spices to tantalize your taste buds.

Deep Fried Pakoras (香酥炸蔬菜) is one of my favorite among all dishes. Great batter and good sauce to complement with it. It is made of flour, rose flour, vegetable and herbs.

Sindhi Kadhi (咖哩蔬菜锅), it is abit light to my liking but the chef make it like so that it wouldn't overpower the dishes as expecting customer to have it alone without rice.

Chicken Tikka Masala (马沙拉香浓鸡), the chicken marinated with herbs and spices then fried to perfection.

Vege dish again but i love it although the capsican  is too raw to my liking, Murgh Aloo Masala (香浓马铃薯)

Goan Fish Curry (印度传统咖哩鱼), sea bass with lots of spices and herbs definitely a good go :)

Achari Paneer (鲜辣芝士沙拉), although i am a fan of cheese but not this type of indian cheese as it taste like dry taufu :P

Lamb Briyani (羊肉焖饭) is a great dish as all the spices did go well with the lamb. Tender and juicy lamb with fragrant rice.

Sweet ending were Mango Lassi (芒果拉昔), Gulap Jamun (玖瑰黄金球). Love the lassi as it it not too sweet to my liking but no other dessert as i am not really a sweet tooth.
So if you crave for a great herbs and species dishes please visit Eastin during Nov.

German Galore at Swez Brasserie, Eastin Hotel Penang.

October always remind me of German food is it because October fest? Beer & German food!!! In conjunction with this month festive Eastin Hotel Penang had came out with all the delicious German food with halal touch. So even Muslim can celebrate October fest together.

Food that going to serve in the buffet shown below.
Bratwurst/ German Sausages (德国香肠); Flavors available are Garlic, Foot Long, Smoked Beef, Chicken as well as Beef Bratwurst. Currywurst; a special sauce specially made to go with chicken sausage. French Mustard; go really well with the beef sausages.

Kartoffelpuffer/ Potato Pancake (马铃薯煎饼). It is kind of pancake mix with mesh potato, taste really good.

Haselnuss-Kruste Fische/ Hazelnut Crusted Fish (榛子脆皮鱼). Sea bass coated with crush hazelnut give it a good aroma & crispy crush.

German Sauerkraut Salad (德式酸菜沙拉). It is a classic dish that German serve & not the purple color salad :)

Bavarian Apple Strudel (巴伐利亚苹果馅饼) served with homemade vanilla sauce.

Kartoffelsalat/ German Potato Salad (德式马铃薯沙拉). It is mix with homemade sour cream.

Rahm-Schnitzel/ Chicken Cutlet (德式鸡扒).

Rindergulasch/ Beef Goulash Soup (德式烩牛肉汤).

One of my favorite, Beignet/ German Deep-Fried Choux Pastry (德式香脆果子馅饼).

Duck Confit Lasagna

It was a award winning entry by Chef Daniel Tan in Bangkok. Slow braised duck meat served with spinach, lily bulb , sundries tomato and topped with alfalfa.

Seafood Consommé

It is a mild soup that compliment the duck conflit. It is too mild for my liking. Fresh boiled prawn topped with a egg custard and some expensive & salty black caviars. Finish with spring onion garnishing.

Main course : Oven Roasted Sea Bass stuffed with lobster Mousse and served in their special spicy sauce.
Grilled Chicken Supreme is another main course option to choose from. If you not a fish lover you can consider this tender & juicy stuffed cheeses  grilled chicken.

Spicy Mango Cheese Cake, deep Fried Iced Chocolate & Praline.

Spicy mango cheese cake? yeah it contain chili padi in the cheese cake. This cake represent love in many way. Spicy, sweet and sour.
